Overwhelming support from the trade in China and overseas has enabled the China International Gold, Jewellery & Gem Fair – Shenzhen to grow rapidly into the key professional jewellery trade fair in China. The success of the first edition in 2003 and the second edition in 2004 was acclaimed by both international and Chinese exhibitors and buyers. The Fair offers professionals of the world’s jewellery trade a chance to meet and do business in the vast market of mainland China.

Shenzhen has been receiving an enthusiastic response since its inception in 2003. To accommodate the continuous growth on participation, the Fair will be moved to a new venue – the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (SZCEC) in 2006. A free shuttle bus service between Hong Kong and the Shenzhen exhibition centre is available during the 4 day fair.

The Fair is deliberately scheduled a few days before the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair (22-25 June 2006). This schedule allows exhibitors and buyers to enjoy two buying trips and selling opportunities in one trip: first to Guangzhou and then to its neighbouring city Hong Kong.

The June 2006 edition will be the largest-ever mid-year international fair of its kind in Asia. The new themed Diamond & Diamond Jewellery Pavilion will be launched concurrently with the expansion for this year's June edition, providing a unique business opportunity and marketplace for trade buyers worldwide.

This year, with the expansion into Hall 3 providing a total exhibition space of over 27,000 square metres and with the participation of over 800 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions, the Fair will attract more than 19,000 visitors from over 102 countries and regions.

The June Hong Kong & Jewellery & Watch Fair is held concurrently with Asia’s Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair -- June, to be held at AsiaWorld-Expo, thereby enabling buyers to visit two fairs during one trip.

For the convenience of registered exhibitors and visitors, the organisers will arrange a free continuous luxury bus service running directly between Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and AsiaWorld-Expo.

At AFJ, the hottest new designs of fashion jewellery and accessory products for the coming Autumn/Winter season are showcased. The burgeoning industry, together with the Fair's unique focus, has turned it into one of the most influential fairs in the global fashion jewellery and accessories industry. In 2005, the Fair attracted over 14,000 visitors from 98 countries and regions and a total of 500 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions participated.

Commencing June 2006, AFJ will move to Hong Kong’s newest and largest exhibition venue, AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE). With a substantial increase in exhibition space at the new venue, the Fair will bring together more exhibitors from more countries and regions as well as a larger variety of products for buyers.

Asia’s Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair – June is held concurrently with the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair which enables buyers to visit two fairs in one stop.

This expansion will allow more exhibitors from more countries and regions to display a wider range of products to enrich the experience for visiting buyers.

The Fair constitutes the single largest display of the world’s jewellery and jewellery products in Asia, showcasing a wide range of products from fine finished jewellery, polished diamonds and gemstones to all varieties of pearls, jewellery timepieces and packaging and display materials, plus jewellery-making equipment, tools and machinery. The Fair is the biggest jewellery fair in Asia and the biggest pearl fair in the world.

Space limitations at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre are the reason many potential exhibitors have been on a waiting list. Starting from September 2006, the Fair will be held at both Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and AsiaWorld-Expo, allowing greater exhibition space.
